Statement of Objectives. Tift Regional Health System’s Community Spirit program contributes to the well-being and development of our community through outreach efforts that include preventative health education, screenings, support groups, wellness programs and corporate and employee contributions.
Program Organization and Management. The Community Spirit program is organized under Tift Regional Health System’s Administration and Department of Outreach and Development and works in association with the hospital’s clinics and departments. Input is solicited from various community voices in order to explore ways in which Tift Regional Health System can collaborate with local agencies and partner organizations to address community needs. Recommendations are brought to hospital leadership and the Board of Trustees for consideration.
Key Collaborations and Partnerships. This includes the Tiftarea YMCA, Horizons Community Solutions, United Way of South Central Georgia, the American Cancer Society, Tift County Commission on Children and Youth, University of Georgia Extension Service, Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College – Health Sciences, Southern Regional Technical College Tifton Campus – Health Sciences, Southwest Georgia Area Health Education Center, Patticake House/Ruth’s Cottage, the American Red Cross and more.
Community Health Needs Assessment. Every three years, Tift Regional Health System conducts an independent health needs assessment of our service area. This includes demographic research, disease incidence rate studies, a community survey, interviews with local leaders, a physician survey and action planning with a community advisory committee.
