Patient and Family Advisory Council

Have you ever wanted to influence the development of services and programs in your community? Are you interested in health care and want to ensure the wiser use of resources?  Do you want to learn more about the programs and activities of your local hospital?   

If so, Tift Regional Health System (TRHS) may have a unique opportunity for you.  We invite you to apply for our Patient and Family Advisory Council.  The valuable input from the Patient and Family Advisory Council is used in the care, treatment and services offered by TRHS, including Tift Regional Medical Center (TRMC), the TRMC West Campus, Cook Medical Center and our physician clinics.  

What we are seeking in our Patient and Family Advisory Council members? 

A positive approach and ability to share and see many different points of view

Good listening skills

Enthusiasm for the hospital’s vision of taking health care to a better place

Ability to share both positive and negative experiences in a constructive way

Ability to communicate and work with families and staff whose backgrounds, experiences and styles may be very different from your own

What are the criteria for being a Patient and Family Advisory Council member? 

  • Able to attend a monthly meeting
  • Must maintain appropriate and confidential handling of personal information
  • Be positive and supportive of the TRHS mission and vision
  • Comfortable speaking candidly in a group
  • Able to listen to differing opinions and share different points of view
  • Able to work productively and collaboratively with council members whose background, experience and style may be different than your own
