Point-of Care CME

TRMC continues to offer CME opportunity for physicians called Point-of-Care CME.  The AMA and AAFP recognize Point-of-Care CME as practice-based learning that takes place in support of specific patient care.

What’s new with PoC is TRMCs newest subscription to UptoDate. UptoDate is a research tool that provides clinicians with unbiased, continuously updated, evidence-based practical recommendations to assist the clinician with point of care decisions. It provides information on over 9,500 clinical topics in 20 specialties. You can earn 0.5 CME credits for each search and UptoDate tracks the CME credit. Credits are tracked by the month and can be redeemed up to every two years. With this subscription you do not complete any paper form for the CME office. You may redeem credit at your convenience. You can print your certificate from the site. If you need any assistance setting up your account call Judy Cooper at   229-353-6805 or 229-402-6122.

TRMC will continue to award 0.5 credits for every point-of-care learning activity that utilizes other approved Point-of-Care CME sources and is delivered by an ACCME-accredited CME provider. The following activity elements must be documented: 1) The learner's question; 2) The search of an AMA or AAFP-approved source; 3) Implementation of new knowledge in practice.

Point of care documentation forms are available in each MD dictation area as well as online.  There is also a box to deposit completed forms.

To be awarded the appropriate credit, for PoC sources other than UptoDate, please click here to print out the Point-of-Care CME form.  Send the completed form to CME Coordinator Judy Cooper, RN.  You can have your office place the completed form in the TRMC Quality Management mailbox at the hospital; give to any of the personnel in the Medical Staff Services office at the hospital; fax to 229-353-6265; or, mail to Judy’s attention at PO Box 747, Tifton, Georgia, 31793.
