What is medical oncology/hematology?  Providers in this specialty offer treatment for patients with malignant and non-malignant cancer and blood disorders.  They manage the medical component of cancer treatment including chemotherapy, and work closely with other specialists, especially surgeons, pathologists and radiation oncologists, in planning and administering the most appropriate therapy.

Radiation Oncology

What is radiation oncology?  A radiation oncologist is a physician who specializes in the treatment of cancer patients using the delivery of radiation doses to tumor sites. Radiation treatment can be given as a curative modality, either alone or in combination with surgery and/or chemotherapy.  It may also be used palliatively, to relieve symptoms in patients with incurable cancers.
