Emergency Services

Cook Medical Center’s Emergency Room is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with skilled emergency-trained nurses and physicians from Southland Adel, LLC. Cook Medical Center (CMC) has a dedicated team of emergency medicine physicians and nurses who are equipped to provide quality care in the most critical of situations.

Southland Adel, LLC comes to CMC from Southland Emergency Medical Services, a company that provides quality physicians in South Georgia. Southland was developed to deliver superior medical services to hospitals and communities. CMC developed an affiliation with Southland due to their reputation for providing first-rate care to patients in an emergency situation.

Cook Medical Center’s emergency department will be staffed by Emergency Physicians under the leadership of emergency department director, Dr. Jonathan Williams, a board certified Emergency Medicine Physician with over seven years’ experience having practiced medicine, and teaching medical students and residents. Dr. Williams is also a published author in his field. All Southland Emergency Medical Services’ physicians are board certified and experienced in emergency medical care, including trauma and pediatrics. Dr. Williams says, “I am very excited about bringing top notch emergency care back to this great community. I believe our physicians and staff will be able to make an immediate difference on patients when they need us the most.”

Our competent and caring Emergency Room staff is here to assist you and your loved ones from the beginning of your visit to the time of discharge. During your visit, the staff will not only provide treatment for your illness but education to provide a better understanding of your illness.

The national average wait time for an Emergency Room visit is over four (4) hours. Did you know that Cook Medical Center's average wait time is 35 minutes? We strive to provide fast, competent care to our community.

The Emergency Room is designed for those with serious problems of an emergency nature. While we encourage persons with minor illnesses or injuries to seek treatment at their physician's office, the staff at CMC's  Emergency Department are here to serve you, our patients, in your time of need.
