Colorectal cancer is the third most commonly diagnosed cancer in both men and women. There is no sure way to prevent colorectal cancer, but there are things you can do that might help lower your risk. This includes changing the risk factors in your control and receiving regular screenings, especially for people over 50. In honor of National Colorectal Awareness Month in March, Tift Regional Health System will be holding free community seminars in Moultrie and Tifton.
Moultrie. Gastroenterologist Dr. George Yared with Affinity Clinic will be providing a free seminar in Moultrie titled “The Myths and Facts About Colon Cancer.” This event, which includes a complimentary meal, will be held at Southern Regional Technical College in Moultrie on Tuesday, March 20 at 6:00 p.m. Seating is limited and registration is required.
