The Tift Regional Joint Replacement and Spine Care Center will hold a free community seminar on Thursday, April 18, 2019, 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., at the Wiregrass Georgia Technical College's Charles Harris Learning Center in Fitzgerald.
Orthopedic surgeon William Smith, M.D. with Georgia Sports Medicine, a Fitzgerald native, will discuss when non-surgical interventions for hip and knee pain are appropriate and when a procedure may be needed. This event is free and open to the public, but seating is limited and registration is required. A complimentary meal is included.
“There may come a time when your hip and knee pain reduces the quality of your life, and conservative measures no longer provide pain relief,” said Kristy Walters, community relations coordinator with Tift Regional Health System. “If this is your situation, there are various options to consider. Dr. Smith is board-certified in orthopedic surgery. He will provide an informative presentation and will take questions from the audience."
The Tift Regional Joint Replacement and Spine Care Center, located at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, is a specialized inpatient unit with a dedicated staff. “The center provides comprehensive education and guidance for patients and their caregivers,” said Walters. “The goal is to involve patients and family members in treatment every step of the way to ensure optimal recovery.
