Tift Regional welcomes 15 new physicians

Tift Regional Health System (TRHS) announced that 15 new physicians have joined its medical staff.  Specialties include anesthesiology, family medicine, gastroenterology, general surgery, hospital medicine, infectious diseases, obstetrics/gynecology, neurology, pediatrics, podiatry, psychiatry and radiation oncology.

“Tift Regional is committed to meeting the medical needs of South Central Georgia,” said Chris Efaw, TRHS vice president of outreach and development.  “These are specialties identified by our medical staff development and community needs analyses.  These new physicians are eager to provide quality care for area residents.” 

Anesthesiology.  Anesthesiologist James Wang, D.O. earned his medical degree from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa.  He completed a residency and fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.  He is performing anesthesia services at Tift Regional Medical Center.  

Family Medicine.  Family physician Mariel Hepburn, M.D. has joined Ashburn Primary Care located at 611 East Washington Avenue in Ashburn.  She earned her medical degree from the Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta and completed residency training at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama.  To make an appointment, call 229-567-3407.  Nashville Primary Care, located in Nashville at 416 East McPherson Street, welcomes family physician Joshua Lang, D.O.  Dr. Lang graduated from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine-Georgia Campus in Suwanee and completed residency training at AnMed Health in Anderson, South Carolina.  To make an appointment with Dr. Lang, call 229-686-2093.  

Gastroenterology.  Affinity Clinic welcomes gastroenterologists Richard Carter, M.D. and Riaz Gill, M.D.  Dr. Carter is a graduate of the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond and completed residency and fellowship training there as well.  Dr. Gill earned his medical degree from the Dow Medical College in Pakistan and completed residency training at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond.  Affinity Clinic is located in Tifton at 2225 U.S. Hwy 41 South.  For more information, call 229-391-4100. 

General Surgery.  General surgeon Tracy Nolan, M.D. has joined South Georgia Surgical.   A native of Tifton, Dr. Nolan received her medical degree from Mercer University in Macon and completed her residency training at the Medical Center of Central Georgia.  For more information, call 229-382-9733.  South Georgia Surgical is located in Tifton at 1007 Greenfield Drive. 

Hospital Medicine.  Affinity Hospital Medicine welcomes Aimel Azizi, M.D. to its team of inpatient physicians at Tift Regional Medical Center.  Dr. Azizi went to medical school at St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies and completed residency training at Drexel University in Philadelphia and fellowship training at Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York.  For more information, call 229-353-6051.
