TRMC partners with YMCA on new facility 02/26/2013
The new Tiftarea YMCA facility on Carpenter Road (site of the former Wilder’s World amusement center and Gator Tales restaurant) is now open for business. Construction is not completely finished at the new YMCA facility, but work-out rooms and other exercise areas are completed and open to members.
The new Tiftarea YMCA facility is the result of a new partnership with TRMC, which owns the 22,500-square-foot building located at 1657 S. Carpenter Road. The Tiftarea YMCA will use the facility to consolidate health, exercise and wellness functions. The YMCA’s aquatic pool and ball fields will remain at the current 1823 Westover Road location. Approximately 7,500-square-feet of the new building will be allocated for TRMC employee wellness activities and hospital community seminars, support groups and screenings. The TRMC section should be completed by the mid-February and will save the hospital on costs normally spent on conference center fees for Tifton-based community activities.
