Newborn Care Classes (TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED DUE TO COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS)
(TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED DUE TO COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS) Topics include: feeding, sleeping, diapering, bathing, and dressing baby, as well as circumcision and umbilical cord care. Also learn what a healthy newborn looks like, temperament, crying and comforting techniques, behavior state, and understanding how a newborn communicates. You will also learn how to identify when your baby needs to be seen by a health care provider, how to choose a pediatrician, and to recognize that each baby and family is unique. Fathers, or other support persons, are encouraged to attend. Classes are held from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. in the OB Classroom (Tift Regional Medical Center 2nd Floor, across from the nursery). Space is limited.
