As part of the Cerner clinical adoption process, Tift Regional Health System (TRHS) has held “roadshows” for Medical Staff outpatient providers to highlight features and functions of the new electronic health record (EHR) system. Andrea Heath, TRHS Director of Specialty Clinics, coordinated the sessions.
“We provided Cerner presentations at Affinity Clinic and the Tift Regional Medical Center ICU classroom for providers working in the ambulatory care setting,” said Andrea. “The mere presence of an EHR does not imply that providers will use it. Since providers ultimately direct patient care, adoption by physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners is necessary for the safe and beneficial use of Cerner.”
Andrea said the goal of the roadshows is to present the Cerner value proposition.
“It’s all about one patient, one record,” she said. “We want to demonstrate how Cerner will empower our outpatient providers and staff to be their best. By giving these practical demonstrations, we want to motivate our providers to take full advantage of upcoming training and to help drive optimization, improvement and adoption of Cerner.”
