TRHS Awards and Recognitions - December 2017

Congratulations to the following employees for their many accomplishments!

  • Brittany Reid, PAS Registrar in Patient Access (ER Registration), graduated from Albany State University/Darton College of Health Professions on 12/9 with an Associate’s Degree in Health Information Technology. 
  • Apurva Shah, MD in Medical Oncology, passed the Internal Medicine Board Certification exam on 12/13. 
  • LeAnn Pritchett, Director Patient Safety in Quality Management, received her Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma in October.
  • Dr. Cameron Nixon, Medical Director for TRHS Physician Services and Dr. Kaine Brown, Medical Director for Affinity Hospital Medicine, both received their Master's in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee's Haslam School of Business this month.  
  • Dr. Melissa Rampal, Nephrology, received her Master's in Business Administration from Valdosta State University this month,
  • Machelle Baisden, Manager of the Medical Staff Office, was selected to be the Hospital Representative for the GAMSS (Georgia Association Medial Staff Services) Board.
  • Amy Taylor, Clinical Educator/Coordinator in Learning & Development, graduated with a Master’s of Science in Nursing Leadership on 12/16.
  • Chasity Pendergrass, LPN with Affinity ExpressCare, graduated from the Southern Regional Technical College RN Bridge Program on 12/14.
  • Jill Dowers, Director of Employee Wellness and Disease Management, graduated from South University with Master of Science in Nursing, with a concentration in Informatics, in October.
  • Monika “Nikki” Walker, Clinical Application Analyst in SAM,  graduated from ABAC with Bachelor of Science in Nursing  in December.
  • Brittany Brooks, Sylvia Barr Center, graduated from ABAC with a RNS on 12/14.
  • Stacey Nelms, RN in Mother Baby received her BSN.
  • Que Smith, Nurse Manager in Georgia Sports Medicine, received her BSN from Chamberlain College in August.
  • Greg Wood and Kyle Payne with Facilities Management received their certifications as Certified Healthcare Constructors, from ASHE (American Society of Healthcare Engineering) in November.
  • Dr. Lakesha Williams, DNP, NP-C, ANP-BC, Internal Medicine Nurse Practitioner/ NPP Coordinator was recently published in the Diabetes and Obesity International Journal with her article titled: “Increasing Awareness of the American Diabetes Association Guidelines for Prediabetes Screening in Asymptomatic Adults to prevent the transition from Prediabetes to Diabetes Mellitus.”
  • Michelle Teegardin, Survey and Investigations in Compliance, received her Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma on 12/8.
  • Adrianne Roberts, RN in the ICU, received her BSN at Chamberlain University in December.
  • The following ER employees received the following certifications: Lindsey Fletcher passed her CEN, Taylor Harper passed TNCC, and Alexis Smith passed ENPC. Rebekah Blanchett passed her paramedic national registry.
  • Amber Goodman, RN in the ER, completed nursing school from Darton University on 12/9.
  • Beth Merrill, RN in the ER, completed nursing school Darton University on 12/9.
  • Brandi Newman and Courtney Delk, ER, obtained their BSN.
  • Sherry Ellis, Director of Clinical Informatics, was recently inducted in the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor’s Society of Nursing based upon her performance in the Masters of Nursing program at Georgia Southwestern State University.
  • Carla Hall completed a renewal course in which she received a Certificate of Competency in Occupational Health by the National Association of Occupational Health Professionals.
  • Wanda Watson, RN, CDE, CPT, CHC, Diabetes Supervisor in the Diabetes Learning Center, received certification as a Certified Health Coach on 11/20.
  • Officer Algernon Holmes in Security received Employee of the Month for Security.
  • Debra Favors, HIM Systems Coordinator, passed and received her RHIT Credential in October.
  • Felicia Simmons, Scheduling Specialist in Central Scheduling/Patient Access, graduated from Albany State University-Darton School of Health Professions with an Associate’s Degree of Science in Health Information Technology on 12/9.
  • Brittany Reid, ER Registration Patient Access, graduated from Albany State University-Darton School of Health Professions with an Associate’s Degree of Science in Health Information Technology on 12/9.
  • Libby Carey, Director of CMC Radiology, obtained certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist from ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) on 12/02.
  • Tiffany Pettiford, System Application Management, graduated from Albany State University with an Associate of Business Administration in August.
  • Zach Greer, Biomed, received his Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician Certification (CBET).
  • Ebony Stubbins, Assistant Director of Nursing at Cook Senior Living Center, received her BSN Degree from South University in October.
  • Melanie Covington, Director of Nursing at Cook Senior Living Center, received her BSN Degree from South University in October.
